Ian Cobain and Fariha Karim's article on MI5 supported torture in Bangladesh, makes it all the more important that we prevent Moshrefa Mishu being taken into remand again. Look up Rahnuma Ahmed's updates on Mishu and sign the appeal for her release.

These have been crazy days. The Bangladesh HC in Malaysia turned down Jeremiah Foo's visa application, whereas British Airways refused to let Mario Macilao board the plane despite the fact that he had a letter issued by the ministry of foreign affairs stating that he would be issued a visa upon arrival. Orbitz, Gulf Air and British Airways, between them kept playing ping pong, washing their hands off once they'd got our money. Eventually the old ticket was scrapped, and a new ticket purchased. It was expensive but better than the rip-off prices being quoted by Gulf Air. Around midnight, Chulie informed me that Mario was on the plane! Thankfully, Mustafa Kamal, the additional foreign secretary and his team have been extremely helpful, and it is hoped that Jeremy will make it to Dhaka tomorrow! Since Channel i launched it's media blitz, the press has latched on to Chobi Mela. Sohrab Hura, Morten Krogvold, Peter Bialobrzeski and Dick Doughty are already here. Book your seats early.
