Prachanda: Nepali revolution as per demand of time

KATHMANDU: Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' on Sunday has said that Marxism should be understood as a dynamic science, and the Nepali revolution should be taken ahead in pursuance to the demand of the nation, time and circumstance.

Speaking at a seminar on 'Ideological struggle in Nepali Communist Movement and the question of party formation' organized by the Maoist party Central Committee here today, he said that the revolution should move ahead in the guidance of Lenin's great saying that 'concrete analysis of the concrete situation is the soul of Marxism'.

At the program organized to mark the founding day (April 22) of Nepal Communist Party, Maoist Chairman Prachanda felicitated founding leader of the party Nar Bahadur Karmacharya, communist movement leader Krishna Das Shrestha, Khamba Singh Kunwar, Bishnu Bahadur Manandhar, Shanta Shrestha and Maoist party politburo member Dil Bahadur Shrestha with a letter of citation, shawl and garland.

KATHMANDU: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said that those breaking the party unity and performing anarchic activities by breaching the party policy will not be pardoned at any cost.

Addressing a training programme organised by the party's Intellectual Special District Committee here today, the Maoist Chairman claimed that the Maoist party has not abandoned its objectives and goals.

Prachanda asked the party dissident faction led by senior Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya not to emasculate the Maoist party by creating anarchy inside the party organisation at a time when the party leadership was struggling hard to institutionalise the agendas raised in the past.

"The Maoist party which is very near to victory will meet the fate similar to communist party of Burma and Malaya if we go ahead as wished by Baidya faction. The Maoist leadership is effortful not to repeat such mistake," Maoist leader Yubraj Chaulagain, quoted Prachanda as saying at the training programme.

On the occasion, the Maoist chairman also expressed doubts over other parties' commitment to writing of the new constitution soon after completion of the peace process. "People will not apologise to such forces for going back from their pervious stance on one or the other pretext," the Maoist chief added.

Prachanda said that decision to handover the PLA combatants and cantonments to the Nepal Army is not tantamount to PLA's surrender but a historical move to advance the peace process.

"I urge one and all not to habour doubts as the PLA combatants were integrated into the army of Federal Republic of Nepal not into the former Royal Nepal Army."

On the occasion, the Maoist chief made it clear that he was in favor of party unity despite serious disputes adding that the families of martyrs, disappearances and injured fighters will not spare to those going against the party unity.

He was of the opinion that the Maoist party cannot compromise with other political parties over the issues of identity based federalism and executive presidential system as the form of governance.

Also speaking at the programme, Maoist standing committee Giriraj Mani Pokhrel said that the Maoist party will not split at any cost. "It will not be more than a mirage to those wishing for split of the Maoist party," Pokhrel added.

Over 1,000 Maoist cadres are present at the training, said Chaulagain.
