Veena Malik is hiding in mumbai!
Sarah Salvadore | Dec 19, 2011, 12.00AM ISTThe actress was supposed to be in Hyderabad on Sunday, but the CBI did not allow her to leave Mumbai, reveals designer Riyaz Gangji
The biggest question doing the rounds in the movie industry, social media sites and blogosphere these days is - Where is Veena Malik? The actor has been untraceable since December 16 and hasn't been in touch with family and friends ever since.
Veena, who went missing from the sets of her horror flick "Mumbai 125 Kilometer", was supposed to be in the city on Sunday evening to walk the ramp for designer Riyaz Gangji. But with the actor being untraceable, the designer's plans of having her as the showstopper went for a toss.
Despite reports that Veena has gone back to Pakistan, Riyaz, who is close to Veena, confirms that the actor is in India. "I spoke to Veena this morning. She told me she was very depressed after the whole nude photo shoot incident. She's been getting threatening calls, emails and someone has filed a case of indecency against her.
A citizen from Pakistan needs to have a visa to visit another city. In this case, I did manage to get her a visa to come to Hyderabad to be my showstopper. But the CBI is not allowing her to leave Mumbai," says Gangji.
So where exactly is Veena? "Well, Veena wanted to get away from all this. So, she checked herself into a hotel in Mumbai and hasn't been in touch with anyone," confirms Gangji. The designer, however, plans to extend all help to his friend. "Veena spoke to me this morning and apologized profusely for not being able to make it. I did get in touch with a few minister friends of mine to see if they can help her. The look that Veena was supposed to sport was phenomenal. I had taken her dates two months in advance. But now that she may not be able to make it, I'll be having someone else fill in for her," said a disappointed Gangji.
Well, folks at least the mystery seems to be solved for now - Veena Malik is in Mumbai. It's only a matter of time before controversy's favorite child resurfaces again.
